"Homework" Templates for Preparing
Your Credentials Package

The following items will assist you in preparing your credentials package. These are the same templates provided in your Career Manual. To open the templates in MSWord format, click here. To open the templates in an ASCII text version, click here. You may also copy and paste them into a word processing document and "fill in the blanks." Replace the "underlines" with your information or add to the paragraph titles provided.

Chronology of Employment

Copying this website text will add additional breaks and spaces to the document once you have copied it into Word. For the chronology section, remove any additional line breaks that may have been added in the transfer to make one perfect master before you copy it. When you have your perfect master ready, copy the chronological employment portion as many times as necessary to complete your work history.

Key Accomplishment Summary

Expand on selected accomplishments that were listed in your chronological history of employment. Each summary should be one page in length.

Copying this website text will add additional breaks and spaces to the document once you have copied it into Word. As you did with the chronology section, remove any additional line breaks that may have been added in the transfer to make one perfect master. Copy this master as many times as necessary to complete your key accomplishment summaries.

Utilize the following format:

Descriptive Title

Situation:

(Project, Problem, Concept, Task): Define in one paragraph consisting of two or three sentences.

Action Plan:

(Implementation, Resolution): Define using a series of bulleted sentences that illustrates the progression of your action. Begin each with an action verb and be sure to use past tense.

Results:

In a brief paragraph or bulleted list, indicate what positive results occurred as a result of your actions. Ideally provide quantitative results (numbers, dollars, percentages). If impossible to quantify, provide qualitative results (i.e.: effective, efficient, improved, increased, motivated, etc.)

Summary of Key Issues and Concerns

Develop a one-page summary of the key issues and concerns relevant to successfully performing the requirements of your area of expertise (or for the position you have targeted). Examples of content and different types of format are included in the Credentials of Distinction addendum of your manual.
