Before
we define specific industry or position goals, and before we develop credentials
to market your talents, it is important to develop a comprehensive understanding
of your personality style, special skills, employment history, key accomplishments,
education, professional development, community activities, and personal
interests.
The
next several pages include worksheets that will enable you to compile
your professional and personality profile.
CorporateWarriors.com
has developed a simple, yet highly effective, personality inventory test.
This test is the first part of the assessment process. This working instrument
can be beneficial in a number of ways, including:
Understanding
our personality strengths and weaknesses.
Understanding
the personal "needs" of others during networking and interviewing.
Development
of responses to interview questions.
Guidelines
for setting career or job objectives.
There
are no right or wrong answers to this test, and it is just one small step
in the total process of defining career goals and succeeding in our career
pursuit. Participants in this program are encouraged to take other formal
personality and vocational tests to provide an even broader evaluation
of their unique style and skill capability. There are literally dozens
of different types of tests available. Myers-Briggs and Strong Vocational
Aptitude are among the best.
Very
friendly, but only deep friendship with a few people.
Idea
generator and success oriented with visions of greatness but frequently
lack the discipline to realize their goals.
A
risk taker, but prone to mistakes. Often make decisions based on emotion
rather than facts or logic.
Highly
motivated, energetic, expressive and fun-loving. The life of every party.
(Probably got the idea for the party, but left the planning and organization
to someone else.)
