Guys,

Just wanted to let you know that one bit of advice you gave me was wrong:

THERE IS NOT A "LULL" OR "QUIET PERIOD" AFTER YOU START ACTIVELY GETTING YOUR CREDENTIALS OUT ON THE STREET!!!!

The forwarded email is the best of the approx. 20 emails I have received thus far after posting my Web resume on 4 websites and sending my Web resume to 15 Exec Search firms.

You guys are AWESOME. Why the heck would anyone go into a career search and NOT use [CorporateWarriors.com]????

I'll keep you posted and forward emails accordingly. Tomorrow at 8:15 AM I have a telephone interview to discuss the forwarded opportunity. Any words of advice???? Comments appreciated.

Regards,

Mike

Don/Joelle/Jim:

Just wanted to share this email which gives us some positive feedback about the work you have done with my web portfolio . . . thanks for your help.

Regards,

Matt

Matt, thought you'd like to hear about the words our chairman said about you . . .

Dan,

Thanks for your e-mail this am re a meeting with you and Matt xxxxxxx. I have read Matt's resume and Key Accomplishment Summaries—listened to his impressive Web site introduction.

Matt is a "doer" with an outstanding track record and we would like to meet him. The fact that you and Matt have worked well together, both at IBM and HTE, is a big plus for [our company].

Also, your recommendations, as [company] President, for picking your team members will be the most important factor in our hiring decisions.

Had 2 meetings with the owners of a company called XXXXXX Consulting. I have known the XXXXXX brothers for over 3 years. We spoke about joining forces over 2 years ago—but they weren't ready.

XXXXXX is a group of IT design architects from TRW and Flur-Daniels. They do very high level project deployments—i.e. redesign of the banking system at B of A and a new fund accounting system for education and nonprofits.

They were blown away by the web portfolio.

Frank

This guy fell "in love" with my web site. Haven't had one of these but you need to see how some are impressed with this as a tool in job search.

Now if he'll just turn loose some big bucks and lots of stock options, I'm in!

Ken

-----------------

Ken,

Sorry for the impersonal autoresponse message from earlier today. We have been a little overwhelmed with the response to our advertisement for a VP of Sales and Marketing and we are dealing with it as best we can.

I looked at your web site and was very impressed. You are exactly the type of person I would like to work with as we grow our companies. I am concerned that we are not as big a company as you deserve from your qualifications but I am confident that if we had a staff of Ken xxxxxxs' it would not be long before we were.

I will be contacting you within the next week to discuss what we are doing as a company and to see if it is in alignment with your goals and dreams. We have a boat load of resumes to sort through with some extraordinary people like you sending us their resumes so please be patient.

Thanks again for your letter and fabulous web site. I truly admire you.

Dear Don, Richard and Joelle,

At our first meeting you asked me what I wanted my next job to be. I told you I felt I was ready to run a small corporation as President of CEO.

Today I accepted the President and CEO job at XXXXXXX Corporation in Kirkland WA.

I can't thank you enough for all your help and support in tuning up my web portfolio and getting me ready for the process. There is no question in my mind that the preparation I received from each of you was the difference.

I was better prepared to move the discussions from the original position (VP of sales) to the President/CEO. Your program added the polish I needed to move to the next level. As you always say—let's start planning for the next position.

Thank you.

Frank

Don,

The Web portfolio works great! Last Tuesday I had sent out my Web portfolio to a senior officer of a company that I had been targeting. I received a call early the next morning from the Dir. of HR informing me that this senior officer wanted to schedule an appointment for an interview right away.

Upon reviewing my ACT database, I realized that I had sent this same individual my previous resume back in August and had no results. I am finding that those people who had received my old resume and are now receiving my new portfolio, are taking a more serious look at me.

Thanks

Brent

Don and Joelle,

I just thought that I would share the attached message with you - it appears that we are having some success already and I haven't even begun to search as my current project still has weeks to go!

Jeff

Don/Joelle/Jim:

I wanted to pass along another 'real world' comment from the VP of Worldwide Sales, XXXXXXX Company, out of Rancho Cordova. I met with their VP today and he had my printed out Web resume in front of him.

In his words, "your online resume has been the buzz of this company." Great endorsement for you . . .

Matt

Here's a story for you:

I have been on board seven days. I'm scheduled to attend the company national sales meeting in Atlanta in two weeks. I am slotted to present "sales negotiations training workshop" to the sales group of 150 reps?? I guess you were right, and they do have "other plans" for me.

I'd like to thank you again for your guidance and direction. You helped me accomplish in five months what I couldn't do on my own in the prior twelve.

I cannot recommend you, or your services, highly enough, especially to those of us who are over 45. Please keep me informed as to your next scheduled sessions. Best success to you on Y2K.

Gary

Email sent to our client from a colleague:

Hi Kirsten,

I just saw that you added a "portfolio" to your LinkedIn profile . . . and viewed the video.

Wow, very cool. Tell me what brought you to do this? . . . .

Keep in touch,

Dear Don:

The purpose of this letter is to give you and Joelle some feedback on the executive portfolio Corporate Warriors developed for me. Everyone, and I mean everyone, from friends, family, hiring managers, recruiters have been clearly enamored by both the quality and quantity of relevant detail.

I could give you a list of statements, but would prefer to tell you the common underlying statement is the powerful use of technology and the manner in which Corporate Warriors utilizes a blended mix of information. I call it the Rob xxxxxxxx story.

I have recommended Corporate Warriors to many and will continue to do so in the future. My only regret is I wish we had met earlier in my sales career. Your coaching is high level, very succinct, and remains light years ahead of anything I have experienced in over twenty years.

. . . The best career move I ever made was seeking Corporate Warriors' expertise.

Sincerely,

Rob

I just got a call from the recruiter for the xxxxxxx position. He still has about two to three weeks of searching to do, but for now he is still considering me, along with two others, to be candidates for the position.

He said he still has some areas of investigation to pursue so that he can convince his client that all viable avenues have been pursued. It's possible that my status will change, but as of now, I am still a candidate. His goal is to be able to present between three and five candidates to the executive staff.

He mentioned that he really liked the unusual way that I conveyed my credentials and qualifications. It was very different from the other candidates, showed a lot of creativity, and really made me stand out. THANKS A LOT TO BOTH OF YOU!!!

Now I have to have a talk to my wife about how wonderful life could be in Clovis . . .

Rod

Larry,

As we discussed yesterday, I recommend that you provide Mr. Donald Straits the opportunity to propose a contract for the xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx outplacement services. xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx, Human Resources Manager, and I have had discussions with Mr. Straits and agree that he offers a refreshing and effective strategy for career counseling. I took the opportunity to speak with some of his clients who were very pleased with his services.

I will give Don your phone number and will ask him to forward some material to you.

Please call me if you have any questions.

xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
Vice President, Operations

Don,

I wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you what happened to me the other day. A recruiter called me from Los Angeles, CA, to ask me who had written my resume and put it on a website. My response was "Why do you ask?" The recruiter told me that it was the best written resume he had ever seen! "The content and formatting was incredible." Of course my chest expanded and my head was full of excitement. I asked what job he had in mind for me, but unfortunately, the recruiter stated that he did not have any particular job at this time, but wanted to compliment me on an outstanding background. The moral of the story is you win some and take the compliments as they come!

I hope you will share this with others contemplating your services. Corporate Warriors is outstanding. Take care and please stay in touch.

Michael

I thought you might like to see some feedback on the web site. This is from the former CEO of the last company I worked for . . . . Now, it's time to dive into the lessons on how to most effectively use the site and turn it into a strong new opportunity.

Jim

Terrific web site. Really the best presentation I have ever seen. Congrats!

Comments sent to a client from a prospective employer about his Web portfolio:

Pat,

I had the opportunity to review your site today in my search for a seasoned executive, and I was quite impressed with your articulate nature and outward professionalism.

Your qualifications as a "turnaround" specialist is what we are looking for in our organization. Your video clip was particularly effective in portraying your stature as a leader and motivator . . . .

Joelle,

I believe that [my resume document] is ready for you to work your miracles. I have provided input in all areas that you requested. Feel free to embellish or edit or change everything. I bow to the master! You are great! I like what you did before and am sure that you will make this a resume that will generate interest and a job.

Comments sent from a recruiter to a Corporate Warriors client about his Web portfolio:

I love it. Great attention getter. No easy feat considering I personally receive an average of 1,100 unsolicited inbound resumes daily. Now, I'll move on to read to yours, and hopefully something will come to mind.

Steve xxxxxxx

Don,

Used my [Web] portfolio for the first time with someone I didn't know. She called back within an hour. We had a great discussion; unfortunately, the base was only $150K. I gave her a couple of additional candidates and because we hit it off, I asked her for candid feedback on the web page.

She was very impressed. She really liked the additional Accomplishments section which allowed her to ask more detailed questions about my background and learn about me quicker. She also said it was very user friendly.

The only negative she mentioned was that some of the folks in the industry that don't understand technology may start off thinking I'm arrogant because of the picture and bold representation.

All in all, it was a great first experience.

Jeff

Joelle: please share this with Don.

I sent my web resume to a recruiter yesterday because they had asked for it, and her response is attached!

Hope you can use this as another testimonial...
--------------------------

Matt:

Now that, by far, is the coolest resume I have ever seen! You are now permanently filed in the resume bank in my head, so if I hear of anything that I think you might have an interest in, I will let you know.

Good luck!

Dana xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Joelle:

I got home last night about midnight and am up, anxious and ready to re-launch my job campaign today. I want to sincerely thank you for all of your time and diligence with me over the past two weeks as well as for your gentle hand holding last week.

I greatly appreciate your efforts and am pumped that I will now land a job thanks to the 'edge' that I have from Corporate Warriors.

I've learned a lot from you and Don and do appreciate all of your support. Thanks again for all of your help; I'll talk with you later this week as I dig out from my travels as well as re-launch my campaign via my contacts.

With best regards,

Philip

Hi Don,

I wanted to update you and let you know that I have accepted a position with a company in Sacramento called xxxxxx xxxxxxxx starting Feb. 1st. They are in the direct mail marketing and fulfillment services business.

I would like to thank you and your staff, Don, for helping me make this career transition. I had great response to the credentials and web portfolio and they differently made the difference in projecting my career accomplishments. You have an outstanding company and I wish you only the best of success in the future. If you would like to use me as a reference in the future please do not hesitate to ask. I am a very impressed with the results of the services and consulting services that you provided for me. If I can ever be of any assistance to you in the future please do not hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

Mike

Just a quick e-mail to let you know that I have received very positive comments and results in the last few days to my online portfolio and resume. I forwarded the portfolio to the folks in my network and to recruiters that I have been actively involved with in my job search. All of the responses have been positive.

One recruiter has contacted me about a job as national VP of Sales with the xxxxxxxxx Company in Milwaukee. They are a wholesaler, same as my previous job. I have spoken to the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for the CEO position, but I (think), graciously dropped out of the running yesterday. I had my first screening interview yesterday for the new position of Vice President/General Manager of Pharmaceutical Distribution for xxxxxxxxxxx through Spencer Stuart. I have a 2nd interview set up with Spencer Stuart for 7/7 in San Francisco. The job description is attached. This one came about from a reference by my ex-boss xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx, after he received my updated portfolio. I have also been contacted by xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx for a West Coast Sales Mgr. job, and by xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx for a VP of Global Sales job, after they both received m new portfolio.

As you can see, I'm off to a slow start. Just kidding, of course. The rest of this week, I will be researching local and national companies, and developing a list of recruiters to blast my portfolio out to. I will keep you guys posted. Have a great 4th of July holiday!!!

Rolando

I thought you'd appreciate the feedback [on my website].

Gene

-----------------------------------

Hi Gene,

WOW! Absolutely outstanding. If you can't get the job you want with that then it probably doesn't exist. I like the way you wove in the e-commerce, etc. That should help open a few more doors for you as well.

Whoever did the graphics, etc. did a great job too. Is that someone who does web sites in general, or was it the same person who is helping you to market yourself? I am only asking because I need a web site myself and don't know where to start looking for someone to help with it. If it is someone who does web sites in general then I would love to have their name and contact info.

Good luck with the interview on Wednesday! Please call and let me know how it goes. By the way, when I tried to reach you in the car last week I kept getting a message that you were out of the service area. Hope your Dad is still progressing nicely down the road to health and that you enjoyed your visit with him.

Take care,

Marsha

Don,

Thanks to you I was probably better prepared than I have ever been.

Also, I verified that it was the web site that got me in and to the top in record time!

As you can see below, I am scheduled to meet the rest of the team and their most influential Board Member.

I also have a meeting with the CEO's version of you tomorrow morning. His name is xxxx xxxxxxxxx. I've known him over the telephone for a number of years. He thinks we (the CEO & I) might be the perfect match and wants to help make it happen.

Not bad for a 1 hour meeting.

Mike

Don,

Greetings from VERY HAPPY SALES PROFESSIONAL!

After eighty-six (86) days, seventeen (17) interviews . . . armed with 'serious web research preparation' (thanks coach) followed by 'value added responses' (thanks coach) and an 'awesome web Executive Portfolio' (acknowledged in the first interview with the CEO and again when I was offered the job) . . . I have the job!

AND . . . They have offered me a base salary of $50k MORE than my previous employer promised and $80K MORE than they actually paid!

If that wasn't enough . . . my Incentive Compensation Plan is $375k MORE than the BEST I'd ever had.

Don, if you EVER need someone to sing your praises…DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK.

Now it's time to change the site into a dynamic BIO site . . . and start looking for some Boards I can serve on!
